I, myself, am not a puppeteer or have not fully created one yet, but have always been fascinated with them. Now that I'm out of school I'm able to have the time to finally try my hands on building one. I have made plans for a marionette which has quite a simple structure.... but the puppet I want to try my hands on first is the cable style. I enjoy fantasy and have a plan for a woodbaby puppet... but unfortunately don't know how the cable system is built for the movement. Woodbaby puppet just slightly move so it seems like an easy enough structure to build... but I need some idea of how the mechanics just. It isn't like the marionette with an exterior movement system... haha so I can't really tell how they work by just looking at them.
So if anyone knows how to build, where to find, or has a pattern for the cable system for the woodbaby puppets... I would highly appreciate it. I've emailed actually woodbaby makers but due to it being something they make for profit, I may not receive an answer. But this isn't for competitive mean haha. Really I have always wanted one and it would be cool to make one. I like renaissance fairs so it would be a great piece for my costume or a gift for a friend. I'm an illustrator so making it a living would probably interfere with that.
